Palmdale Regional Medical Center serves the region by providing high quality medical services to residents of the Antelope Valley and surrounding communities.
The hospital offers 184 licensed beds that includes the recent addition of the 27-bed Rehabilitation Institute. This inpatient unit is designed to help patients with disabling physical or neurological conditions such as:
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Brain trauma rehabilitation
- Brain injury rehabilitation
- Spinal cord injury rehabilitation
- Orthopedic rehabilitation
The unit features specialized areas for training and activities. It is the goal of the Rehabilitation Institute to return the patient to their prior functional status through specialized inpatient rehabilitation.
Palmdale Regional Medical Center has been named a Bariatric (Weight-loss surgery) Center of Excellence by CIGNA, and is accredited by the American College of Surgeon's Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
The hospital also features inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac services featuring a STEMI Receiving Center (heart attack), oncology, neurology, ENT, respiratory and urology services and a 35-bed 24-hour emergency department.
The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine provides treatment for people with chronic non-healing wounds. This comprehensive wound-healing service includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
The Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute (ROI) at Palmdale Regional Medical Center provides comprehensive patient evaluation and treatment for outpatient rehabilitation, educates patients and families and consults with other healthcare providers. Therapy services include:
The Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute staff interacts with medical professionals from many disciplines, including neurosciences, orthopedics, gerontology, hematology, oncology and general medicine. Therapy services are provided to outpatients and hospitalized patients.
